Franklin's Philosophy
Showing humans how to have the best relationship possible with their horses and how to keep it has always been one of Franklin's main goals. To be good with horses at a high level requires us humans to come forward with our best qualities and attributes. Similar to a 'great parent', successful relationships with horses require compassion, kindness, precision, patience, clarity, real knowledge (not just opinions and projections), great leadership, acquired skills and more.
Moreover, it is clear that practicing appropriate interaction with horses helps humans to become more highly functional in all their relationships. Thus, in all his programs, Franklin teaches success with horses as life enrichment for the human as well as the horse.
What's New
New Equestrian Centre opensin Corfu, Greece
A lot has been happening in the world of Franklin's Way of the Horse. Most recently, Franklin's flagship equestrian cenre has officially opened on the island of Corfu Greece. At Silvaland Equestrian and Life Enrichment Centre, he and his wife, Ilona Staikou, offer Private & Semi-Private Horsemanship Training, and equestrian facilitated learning programmes. Each program is individually designed to meet the needs of the aspiring equestrian.
The New Horse is Franklin’s base in the UK. He will be working there in May, 2012 and hopes to see many familiar faces! Franklin strongly endorses The New Horse as a progressive, evolved and truly exceptional place to learn about horses, how to compassionately and effectively train them, experience and learn Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) programs of many modalities and applications, as well as a wonderful place to enjoy nature, camaraderie and gain life enriching inspiration.

Franklin provides a donation supported Email Help Center from this website. There are nearly a thousand questions and responses archived within this section. The incredible volume of horse behavior questions continuously coming in to the site indicates how successful this feature has become. The tremendously positive feedback from folks who have been helped by this service is a tribute to the effectiveness of Franklin’s methods, even through an email. This 'free' feature and the site itself are in need your support.
International Horsemanship Programs & Clinics
Franklin travels frequently to such locations as Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Costa Rica, the U.K., the U.S. and Canada. Whether a competitive rider, trail rider, Western or English discipline, your success with your equine is based on the depth and quality of the trust you have established with your horse, along with appropriate and practiced skills and clear and practical knowledge about horses. Now you can experience one of the few, true remaining innovators of gentle, successful horsemanship by attending a Franklin Levinson seminar. In addition to offering group seminars and clinics internationally, Franklin also provides private horse training and phone consultations.
Franklin currently resides on the Greek Island of Corfu with his wife, Ilona Staikou. When not travelling, the pair offers a unique immersion program entitled "Fundamentals of Elegant Horsemanship". These are private and semi-private programmes tailored specifically for the individual equestrian or group.
On the island of Maui, Hawaii, Franklin still trains occasionally at the program he founded – The Maui Horsewhisperer Experience.
